“It’s not what you look at that matters, it’s what you see.” – Henry David Thoreau
A few weeks ago I attended the Dwell On Design Expo at the LA Convention Center. It’s the largest design expo in the west coast, organized by one of my favorite design mags, Dwell, At Home in the Modern World. Needless to say it was an amazing mix of art, architecture, living spaces, ecological applications for the home, sustainable materials, and expensive gadgets.
You don’t have to be a design nerd to appreciate good design. You like it as soon as you see it. And there was plenty to see at the event; a weekend was not enough and wished I had more time to browse through the entire show.
My Dad, who has his own construction company, and my Mom, who is an artist, both have that visual edge and love of design (ambos con muy buen ojo y composición) and they wanted to come see this show but couldn’t make it; so I took a few pictures for them and thought maybe other design aficionados would also like a look.
Here is a very limited selection of the exhibitors and their showcase. I took about 400 pix but can’t post them all, so here is a sample. Enjoy.
